The event starting today will involve other teams from DR Congo and Burundi.KAVC, the three-time former Genocide Cup champions, face a difficult task.“This time we are going to win the title we lost last year. That is our objective,” said team coach Sadiq Nasiwu.“We shall also be defending the women’s volleyball title. We are not ready to let it go,” added Nasiwu.KAVC are one of the five Uganda teams for the annual event —a commemoration of the 1994 Rwanda Genocide.Other teams include KCC men and women teams, and Old Kampala men’s club.Top on the opposition is Kigali Volleyball Club who ended KAVC’s three-year reign last year.Meanwhile, St. Mary’s College Kisubi is to host the inaugural All-Boys volleyball championship next weekend.Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) Secretary Joseph Opio said the event that runs up to Sunday is meant to spread the game among boys.The tournament is the boys version of the All-Girls Championship which Nabisunsa Girls have dominated for nine years.ends
