By Felix OsikeTHE Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) have released recent photographs of the Lord Resistance Army (LRA) rebel chief, Joseph Kony and his commanders who are being pursued in Southern Sudan. The photographs were last week shown to local and international journalists at Gulu Barracks by the deputy Operations Commander, Col. Francis Okello. They have also been distributed to the detaches in the areas of operation. Some of the pictures displayed, show Kony in civilian attire leaning against a wall at Palotaka catholic church which was once his base and others in military fatigue, but without dreadlocks.Okello told journalists that the pictures and several documents were recovered from camps which were overrun in March this year. He said the documents were still being scrutinised for intelligence information. The photos include that of the rebel coordinator in London, Onen Pojwang, holding an SMG when he visited the LRA camps. Other photographs are of Obira Acila and Dominic Wanyama, the Kenya coordinators and former Aboke girls with children, who are currently wives of rebel commanders. There is also a picture of Kony, his wives with children, two of whom were in army uniform.Others are of Vincent Otti a man behind the 1995 massacre of about 200 civilians in Atiak and the late commander Omwona and his family.Ends
