By Edith KimuliA group of mothers recently donated equipment worth sh15m to Mulago hospital children’s ward.The mothers under PAED-AID, a group that was established last year, bought the equipment that included microscopes, thermometers, humalyzer and others from money raised through fundraising held last year.The leader of the group Dr Nakimera Kanyerezi of PAED-AID said the group that consists of 15 mothers, got the money by fundraising through staging children’s plays.She said they were also given a DSTV set from multi-choice and aid from other companies like The New Vision that gave free space for advertising.Dr Nakimera also handed over a video deck, a video sender to the ward.Prof. Emmanuel Kaijuka, the commissioner health services in the Ministry of Health commended the mothers for supplement governments efforts of treating Ugandans. Dr Eddie Mworozi, the head of the paediatric department said they see 70 to 150 children patients a day in the Acute Ward, adding that the ward’s equipment does not match with the number of patients they receive and were always grateful to people who give the ward donations.Dr Gideon Kikampikaho, deputy director Mulago thanked PAED-AID for the help.Ends
