Adjumani district local council recently rejected the proposed five LC5 executive secretaries nominated by the council chairman, Nixon Owole.

By Ahmed Angulibo Adjumani district local council recently rejected the proposed five LC5 executive secretaries nominated by the council chairman, Nixon Owole.This was during a council session at Adjumani district council hall presided over by the speaker, Saul Anyama. The council elected Anyama, representing people with disabilities, as the speaker and Rose Ruga Taziyo, women councillor for Pakele sub-county, as the deputy speaker.The council approved Phillip Mondia, Ciforo sub-county councillor, to retain his position but rejected the five secretaries.The secretaries rejected are Angela Kotevo, Jaipi sub-county women councillor, Lucy Mandera, Adjumani town council women councillor and Simon Makpe Ofua sub-county councillor, Akule Ila, Adropi sub-county councillor and Ben Anyama Jaipi sub-county councillor. They rejected the councillors, saying the nomination of the executive secretaries should be revisited. They said some sub-counties were favoured.The youth councillors also claimed they were not represented in the executive.Owole said, “The six sub-counties and interest groups are more than executive posts. I ask the council to unite and work toward eradicating poverty.” Ends
