Walukuba Estate Sale Hits Snag

By Jonathan Angura THE sale of Walukuba Housing Estate in Jinja Municipality hangs in balance due boundaries of the plots on which the houses are built.Jinja mayor David Wakudumira said the estate was not yet ready for sale because there were technicalities not fulfilled including survey of the plots and evaluation of the houses. Wakudumira told a press conference in Sunset Hotel, Jinja, on Thursday, that surveying and evaluation were still in progress and their completion could not be ascertained.The estate, situated two kilometres east of Jinja town is one of the largest in the country having about 1,500 housing units accommodating over 15,000 people. Some houses were built over 40 years ago.The estate was built during the colonial era. Ends
