THE recently created district of Kaberamaido has earmarked sh400m to construct a new office administration block this financial year, reports <b>Abdallah Ogwang.</b>

THE recently created district of Kaberamaido has earmarked sh400m to construct a new office administration block this financial year, reports Abdallah Ogwang.
The district LC5 chairman, Mr. Rex Ekecho, made the announcement to The New Vision recently.
He said the construction of the office administration block would be based on the structural plan designed by Kaberamido district local government.
He said resources for the construction would be raised from local revenue within the district. This will be supplemented by grants from the central government, donors and other charitable organisations.
Ekecho said that apart from that, the district was also planning for the improvement of standard of education, health and the maintenance of feeder road networks in the entire district.
He stressed that there was good working relationship between civil servants posted to the district and politicians adding that the good working relationship had created room for effective development.
“I do not want civil servant in the district to be worried and intimidated by politicians,” Ekecho said.
He, however called upon the people of Kaberamido district to unite and develop the area.
He disclosed that in the current financial year, Kaberamaido would embark on the renovation of the old office building. He said efforts would also be made to improve other facilities like schools. Ends
