Kampala Music School is performing a famous opera known as The Marriage of Figaro at the National Theatre from on Monday October 21, and on Wednesday October 23.

Kampala Music School is performing a famous opera known as The Marriage of Figaro at the National Theatre from on Monday October 21, and on Wednesday October 23.
Mrs. Ulrike Wilson, the director of the play, is not only magnificent at this particular role, but also an excellent singer and actress.
An Italian known as Lorenzo da Ponte (1749 - 1838), originally wrote the opera as as a play.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791), then helped turn the play into an opera.
It was first performed in Vienna on May 1, 1786 and still lives on today due to the collaboration of the witty Italian playwright, Ponte, and the legendary classical composer, Mozart.
The plot of the opera is about a nobleman, who wants to spice up his sex life by having an extra-marital affair with his wife’s chambermaid, Susanna.
The chambermaid is about to marry the main character of the opera, Figaro, also a servant at the nobleman’s court.
However, Figaro and the nobleman’s wife are not going to make it easy on the nobleman by tricking him in several ways and in turn get a dose of their own medicine.
Kampala Music School director promises a feast for your eyes and ears because there will be wonderful singers trained by Mrs. Ulrike Wilson, a spirited piano accompaniment by Sam Lankester. Mark Wilson, who is great at her role, will narrate the story.

The entrance fee will vary on the two days. On Monday, October 21, it will be sh3,000 and on Wednesday October 23, it will be sh10,000.
Students will be charged a small fee of sh1,000.
Note that there is no show on Tuesday.
The proceeds of the opera will go to the Kampala Music School Bursary Fund.
