THE Minister of State for Local Government, Dr. Phillip Byaruhanga, has appealed to district leaders and extension workers in the agricultural sector to promote investment opportunities in the industry.

THE Minister of State for Local Government, Dr. Phillip Byaruhanga, has appealed to district leaders and extension workers in the agricultural sector to promote investment opportunities in the industry.
He was recently commissioning a 20-acre modern agricultural demonstration farm at Mwanyangiri in Nakisunga sub-county, Mukono district.
Byaruhanga urged local council officials at the sub-county to sensitise farmers into modern farming methods.
He said inspite of land fragmentation and scarcity, farmers must target high yields.
The director of Mwanangiri Demonstration Farm, Joan Kakwenzire, who is also the presidential adviser on economic development, urged farmers to be practical.
She said the demonstration farm is aimed at promoting interest in commercial farming among farmers. Ends
