MAYUGE Woman MP Rukia Nakaddama Issanga is among the 78 newly-admitted students at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Kampala campus.

Geresom Musamali writes that IUIU campus director Dr. Ahmed Ssengendo said on Saturday during the official admission ceremony at Kibuli Teachers’ College, that Issanga was pursuing an undergraduate degree in public administration.

He said among other prominent personalities admitted was Sembabule Resident District Commissioner Hassan Wasswa Galiwango, who is also pursuing a public administration course at post-graduate level.

Ssengendo warned female students against dressing in an immoral manner.

He said the newly-admitted female students had had problems adjusting their dressing habits in accordance with the Islamic norms.

The warning comes in the wake of friction between Muslems and non-Muslems worldwide over Sharia proscription of child-birth outside wedlock, and beauty contests.

Over 200 people died in violent clashes in Nigeria recently, after publication of an article considered offensive to Islam.
