CHILLS and Meals stamped their prowess when they annihilated Lugazi 8-4 to win the national darts league play-off on Sunday.
Dipu Ruparelia’s Kassanga based Chills proved unstoppable in the final as they exhibited amazing shooting antics infront of a big crowd at Melano Pub.
With near perfect one-darter Edward Mukiibi, two-darters Richard Jjingo and Ben Musisi, David Tabaro, Stephen Odokonyero and Johnson Sendagala who swept singles, Chills were unmatched in the event that attracted 18 clubs.
The play-offs triumph by Chills confirmed the former joint league champions as the best outfit following their lifting the Uganda Cup club knockout title last month.
Chills & meals had more reason to smile after thrashing URA 7-2 in the semi-finals.
URA’s chances were dented from the beginning by the absence of four first choice players Michael “Computer†Nyeko, Olive Begomba and Lander Olak.
The team looked a shadow of themselves managing only two wins through Milton Omuruga and Simon Lwasa.
Tabaro recorded the shortest game with a spectacular 14 darts as he nailed Lugazi’s Geoffrey Marofu with a one-hit at D20 to win 2-0.
Sendagala recorded another three-darter checkout (T20, T13 and D16) as he cleared 131, stunning Lugazi’s John Sekidde who was eyeing a balance of 16.
“We feel great, we knew every team was counting on us,†Chills captain Tabaro said with a sigh of relief.
“But we were determined to retain the cup,†he added.
Soroti was a surprise side.
Lugazi had to sweat to overcome the Soroti team 7-5 at semi-finals stage.
Lira and Apac also exhibited rare talents.
