Winnie case ruling set

KAMPALA — Judgement day for the Winnie Byanyima gun case was yesterday set for January 13, 2003, after a year on trial. Buganda road Court chief magistrate Nigel Othembi fixed the date after a full-day hearing of the final submissions from the state and the defence lawyers Elias Lukwago and Kayemba Mutale. They asked the court to acquit Byanyima who was reportedly ill and did not attend the proceedings.
