THE Danish Government has given sh300m to the Amnesty Commission in Gulu.
Speaking at the launch recently, Anton Barrey, the Danish Programme Adviser at the Danish Embassy, called upon the rebels to unconditionally release all the children in their captivity and come out of the bush in response to the amnesty law.
The Danish grant is to resettle the 1,355 back log of former LRA rebels in Acholi sub-region, Moses Draku, the public relations officer of the Amnesty Commission, said.
The Danish government also condemned the atrocities being inflicted on innocent civilians in northern Uganda.
The Amnesty Commission chairman, Justice Peter Onega, said over 4,000 former rebels, were granted amnesty but there were no funds to resettle them. Ends
