The International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF) is an international research organization supported by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Its ultimate purpose is to promote food security and environmental resilience while supporting the eradication of poverty. ICRAF’s mandate is agroforestry research and development. In Uganda, ICRAF jointly implements the Agroforestry Research and Development Project with the Forestry Resources Research Institute (FORRI) of the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) in the Kigezi Highlands and the Lakeshore area. To support the financial management of project activities and the administration of its new office, ICRAF requires the services of a qualified Accounting and Administrative Officer based in Kampala who will assist in various accounting and administrative activities.Job Description- Keep project accounts, effect payments and prepare financial reports in a timely and accurate manner- Responsible for administration of equipment (procurement, operation and maintenance)- Perform secretarial and office communication tasks- Manage security personnel- Perform any other related duties as required.Qualifications- University degree in accountancy, business administration or commerce- Three years experience in project administration in a reputable organization- Strong computer skills including spreadsheet and word processing- Ability to communicate well, meet deadlines and work in a teamTerms of employmentA six-month contract including a competitive salary package commensurate with qualifications is offered. Extension of the contract will be considered depending on adequate performance and confirmation of funding availability.
