SIR— For the past two weeks or so, Mbale Regional Post Office is not sorting mail regularly. In fact, it is now four days since they last sorted mail. The excuse given is lack of personnel; the person in charge is sick or has gone on leave. But how can a whole regional post office fail to get a temporary replacement, especially from the other smaller post offices? Many of us have been relying on Uganda Postal Service for its prompt delivery of mail. A letter posted in the afternoon in Kampala has been reaching our mailbox by the afternoon of the next day. Even better, a letter posted in the morning, either in Jinja, Iganga or Tororo, has been reaching our mail box in the afternoon of the same day. Please UPL, sort out this problem and restore our confidence in your service. Name withheld on requestEditor: UPL says there should be no manpower shortage in Mbale Post Office. However, UPL apologises to the public for the inconvenience and promises to rectify the problem forthwith.
