By John Nzinjah Kasese Resident District Commissioner Musa Ecweru has attacked Court Bailiffs who execute their duties without consulting local leaders. He said their actions may lead to bloodshed.“I defused a crisis in Hima where people were ready to cut one another just because court bailiffs went to the area and started burning houses without consulting the local leaders,” Ecweru said.He was speaking on Messiah Radio station during the “Wake Up Now” programme organised by Rwenzori Journalists Association (RWEJA).Steven Ndolerire and Company, Court Bailiffs and Auctioneers, went to Kinyabwamba and Kandahi villages of Hima parish in Kistwamba sub-county to execute a high court ruling to evict over 30 families from the area. The ruling was concluding a bitter land dispute between Joseph Kiregheya and Timiseo Baluku, who had been tussling it in court for over ten years.“I know the bailiffs were implementing the law, but they should not cause insecurity,” Ecweru said.Ends
