FUFA is mobilising a defence of ten lawyers against the petition questioning their legitimacy, reports Norman Katende.
Former FUFA delegates Badru Sentongo and Joseph Kakooza petitioned the Centre for Arbitration and Dispute Resolution (CADER) alleging the current executive assumed office unconstitutionally. Hearing is for October 3.
They alleged that FUFA president Denis Obua did not get a mandatory 50% votes while 30 of the associations at the elections did not measure to the standards.
The two delegates were however expelled and stopped from taking part in any football administration by the same body during its annual sitting at the International Conference Centre on Saturday.
“We are consulting lawyers. You will get their names when the time is ripe,†said a reliable source from FUFA.
The source said FUFA statutes could allow the executive to defend the federation in courts of law against someone outside football administration.
“We have all the evidence but we were not ready to go against the statutes governing football,†said the source.
