CHARGING Rhino aim to extend their winning record yet again in the MTN classic basketball league today.
Rhino clashes with second placed Sadolin Power while Miracle face off with Blue Jackets at YMCA, and in Jinja, league leaders Sky Jammers take on Warriors.
Charging Rhino are confident they can take on Power in a do or die game. “We are in a groove right now, it’s important to go out there with momentum and a positive attitude. It’s good for our confidence,” Rhino’s assistant captain Mandy Juruni said.
They will on Sunday face Falcons at the YMCA, a reminder of how far the local scene has come since the days of the “sure deal team” in the 1998 FUBA games, when Falcons dominated.
Charging Rhino nyumba ya chuma forward John Mupiika will lead his team against a no nonsense Falcons team set to rally behind their top scorer Sam Obol. Mupiika is averaging 15.2 points and 10.8 rebounds per game this season.
In the women’s league, second placed Nabisunsa will battle it out with third placed Amazon Rhino in the only ladies game as the preliminary round of the league draws to a conclusion and the playoff count down begins.
