FOOD insecurity will increase as long as no appropriate attention is foccused on land in Uganda, the Speaker of Parliament, Edward Ssekandi recently told a parliament forum on food security, population and development.
Ssekandi, who is also the patron of the forum, said land was the foundation of all development efforts, but it has not been thought of as a finite asset.
“We have to focus on the basic and fundamental goal of ensuring food security in Uganda. Without appropriate attention to land, food security will become increasingly compromised in this country,” Ssekandi said. Ends
