Kalangala gets water
KALANGALA — Spencon Construction Services has completed the construction of a clean water supply project for Ssese Islands in Kalangala district. The LC5 chairman, Daniel Kikoola, while visiting the area recently, said the project was timely since residents had no access to clean and safe water.

Prisons dept owes NWSC
KAMPALA — The National Water and Sewerage Corporation is demanding over sh900m in arrears as unpaid bills from the prisons department. Sources said arrears for Prisons institutions in Kampala amount to sh607,286,643, while those for all prisons in the country total sh949,044,219.

Woman fined on passport
KAMPALA — A businesswoman has been sentenced to a fine of sh50,000 for substituting a passport photograph. Nakawa Court Grade One Magistrate Flavia Nassuna convicted Joan Nakirunda alias Sophia Nalinya, 25, of Namusuba, after she pleaded guilty to charges of making and uttering a false document.

Tembo MD summoned
NAKAWA — Court has issued criminal summons against the managing director of Tembo Steels Ltd in Lugazi after he failed to pay over sh52m in wages to his former employee. Magistrate J.B Byarugabaha ordered Shyam Agarwal to appear in court to answer the charges against him. Edward Othieno, a former a site manager, is the claimant.
