MOVEMENT information director Ofwono Opondo has said he has evidence that Katikamu MP, Lt. Jimmy Kinobe took a bribe.
Opondo said Luweero RDC Mugisha Muhwezi gave him information proving that Kinobe solicited sh4m from Luweero CAO, Mpiira Bigairwe.
Opondo, who insists that Mugisha initiated the saga, recently said he was ready to produce an MTN print out to prove that Muhwezi rang him several times urging him to take the matter to Parliament.
Muhwezi denied having talked to Ofwono about the alleged bribe and said he was disappointed by Ofwono’s allegations.
Muhwezi recently told the press that the allegation was only meant to drive a wedge between him and the MP because they were both fighting corruption in the district.
In a lengthy telephone interview, Ofwono insisted that Muhwezi rang him several times urging him to arrange a meeting between the CAO and the Speaker of Parliament over the alleged bribe.
“It is the RDC who initiated the whole affair. I never rang him and I didn’t even know his telephone number,†he said.
