SOROTI – The deputy RDC, George William Oumo, has lashed out at money lending institutions which use excessive force in recovering loans from their clients. Oumo made the remarks as he thanked the people who contributed towards the ordination ceremony of eight priests at St. Peters Cathedral, Soroti recently.
Guard jailed
JINJA – A security guard attached to interid security services has been sentenced to eight months in Kirinya prison for illegal possession of five bullets. Ronald Gurembe, 20, was found with the bullets on July 31 in Jinja town when he was off duty.

KAMULI – Five men, who allegedly conspired to burn Fred Kazira’s home last month, were recently remanded by Grade One Magistrate Samuel Masaba on charges of arson. James Isabirye, Stephen Bagaga, Hassan Waiswa, Yasin Madooba and Ibrahim Kafuma are from balawoli subcounty. Ends
