The Democratic Party (DP) yesterday inaugurated the Namulanda Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) and commissioned them to canvass for votes for presidential candidate Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye, reports Anne Mugisa. The function, which turned into a campaign rally for Besigye, took place at the home of Yuliyo Mukasa at Namulanda on Entebbe Road. DP President General Dr. Paul Ssemogerere officiated at the function. DP stalwarts Kampala Mayor Ssebaana Kizito, and DP Secretary General, Damiano Lubega, attended the function that was interrupted by a downpour. Ssebaana said DP decided to support Besigye because their candidate Nasser Sebaggala had failed to go through. Ends
