SUDAN has confirmed its entry for the Africa Zone Five boxing championship due in Kampala this month.

By Samson Opus SUDAN has confirmed its entry for the Africa Zone Five boxing championship due in Kampala this month. UABF secretary Issa Odongkara said the entry of Khartoum brings to four the number of countries who have confirmed participation in the event being organised as a qualifier for the Africa Boxing Confederation (ABC) championship. Other countries that have declared to take part in the regional tournament are Kenya Tanzania and hosts Uganda. Other zonal member countries expected are Egypt, Ethiopia, Somalia and Djibouti. Uganda Bombers are defending champions in the event due February 26 to March 3 at Lugogo indoor stadium. Odongkara appealed for financial and material assistance from companies and individuals to help the federation to host the sh40mk tournament. Meanwhile, the revived national league continues on Saturday at Naguru Community Center in Kampla. The event that has attracted 14 clubs started last week. Ends.
