By Emmanuel Mulondo in Fort Portal PRESIDENTIAL candidate Kibirige Mayanja has equated this year's presidential elections to the Gisu culture and claimed that this is his embalu (circumscion) year. Addressing a rally attended by about 200 people at Mpanga market in Fort Portal, Mayanja said President Yoweri Museveni's year was 1996. He said the rest of the candidates are infants whose initiation was not yet due. Accompanied by wife Hadijah Abdallah, Mayanja said other candidates should wait until they are ripe for initiation. He said Museveni should simply retire having finished his turn. He said his mission in seeking leadership was to end wars bedeviling the country by bringing all rebel groups to a round table. He said Museveni's insistence on use of military might had not yielded positive results for the country. This has resulted into suffering and displacement of innocent civilians, he said. Ends
