FORMER national star Paul Mutambuze added another title to his rich collection by winning the Makerere Open on Sunday.

By William Muwonge FORMER national star Paul Mutambuze added another title to his rich collection by winning the Makerere Open on Sunday. The fourth seed outwitted Edward Kiwanuka, the former holder of the men's singles crown, 11-21, 21-9, 21-9 at Makerere's Africa Hall. "I did not expect a big challenge, Kiwanuka can still improve his game," Mutambuze said after the final. Mutambuze, one of the best players Uganda has ever produced, secured double success when his team-Fotogenix won the team event. Fotogenix's Victor Mawanda and Julius Omoding made easy work of the Lugogo team to win the final 3-0. Lugogo had Martin Olweny, Eddie Baguma and Francis Mulinda. Top seed Diana Namisango retained the girl's singles title,Susan Atai, from Premier High school was runner up. Jude Mutete won the boy's singles event and Dan Kajubi retained the boy's cadet's title.
