KAMPALA - The Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr. Richard Butera, has refuted claims Winnie Byanyima made to the press that the Government had proposed an out of court settlement for her sedition case but she rejected it.

KAMPALA - The Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr. Richard Butera, has refuted claims Winnie Byanyima made to the press that the Government had proposed an out of court settlement for her sedition case but she rejected it. The Mbarara Municipality MP is facing sedition charges over statements she made on the Kenyan Television Network that Uganda was training Interahamwe to overthrow the Rwanda Government of Maj. Gen. Paul Kagame. Butera said nobody was ever authorised to talk to Byanyima about settling the case out of court and no body could have done so. Ends
