THE Kasese district executive committee has interdicted the Chief Administrative Officer, Hannington Syahuka, on charges of financial mismanagement, writes Vision Reporter.

THE Kasese district executive committee has interdicted the Chief Administrative Officer, Hannington Syahuka, on charges of financial mismanagement, writes Vision Reporter. The interdiction took effect on Monday, according to the interdiction letter. Syahuka brought to The New Vision Kasese bureau office last week. The letter said the district council, on April 6, unanimously resolved to carry out special investigations into Syahuka's expenditure. The letter instructed Syahuka to hand over office to his deputy Eseri Ngene. Syahuka is, however, entitled to half of his basic salary while on interdiction. Syahuka has also been barred from entering the district headquarters at Rukoki and leaving the country without permission from the district authorities until his case is disposed off. Between 1999 and 2001 he allegedly misappropriated over sh11m. He described the interdiction as "political victimisation and vowed to stay in office. Ends
