SIR-I write to react to Mr Charles Peter Mayiga's article which appeared in the Talk-of -the Town pull-out of The New Vision on Wednesday, June 7, expressing pessimism in the newly proclaimed African Union which has replaced the OAU. Being a minister for youth and cabinet affairs at Mengo, Mayiga still harbours the old question of the position of Kabaka and Buganda in a united Africa. That question came up in the 1950s and 1960s whenever the East Africa Federation was proposed. If Uganda, Kenya, Tanganyika and Zanzibar had federated, Buganda would have remained intact.
