By James Bakama VETERAN sports administrator Bidandi Ssali has recommended Abbas Kaawaase as the most qualified candidate for the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) presidency. "He is my best choice," Bidandi, also Local Government minister told The New Vision on Friday. FUFA goes to polls in December. The race for the top soccer job has already attracted the interest of former league committee secretary Kaawaase, Twaha Kakaire, Michael Okiror and John Ssemanobe. The incumbent FUFA boss Dennis Obua also insists he will stand despite massive criticism. Talking about Kaawaase's qualities, Bidandi, who opted not to stand for the Nakawa parliamentary seat in the recent elections, said "he has administrative experience, maturity and purpose." Kaawaase is the Kibuli SS headmaster, Bidandi, a former Cranes and KCC manager and coach, said his second choice would be Ssemanobe. He dismissed the other contestants saying, "I do not see much hope in the others. I do not think they have the capacity of reversing the declining soccer standards." Bidandi said many look to FUFA for a job. "That's what has killed our football. People take it as a remunerative occupation yet it is supposed to be a service to the public."
