By Eddie Sejjoba THE Vice-President, Dr. Specioza Kazibwe, has hailed the youth of eastern Uganda for being non- sectarian when they voted for an Indian representative to Parliament. She said this set a good example for other Ugandans. Kazibwe was on Sunday addressing a rally at Masaka Liberation Square. She was representing President Yoweri Museveni at the celebrations to mark the National Youth Day and the day of the African Child, where she launched the National Youth Policy. She congratulated Jay Tanna, the new Eastern Youth MP and said his election showed that the Movement was moving forward. Tanna shook hands with Kazibwe amid cheers from fellow youth leaders. Kazibwe said although some government critics think otherwise, there is need to politically guide the youth on political ideology so that they do not backslide. She said the Movement Secretariat was going to embark on guiding them with a lot of zeal. "Nothing is as bad as being on the wrong wagon all the time. Those who choose to live in hell on earth will still miss heaven because heaven begins from earth," she said. Kazibwe blasted the Masaka youth council chairman, Matthias Mpuuga for saying Museveni should not come to the rescue of weak Movement candidates in the next local council elections. Mpuuga said the President should not help non-performing leaders responsible for the problems the residents were facing. Kazibwe said the President had the right to campaign for candidates of his choice. Ends
