One person died while four others were seriously injured when a Tata lorry collided with a petrol tank trailer at Namasoga, on the Jinja-Tororo Road

By Moses Nampala One person died while four others were seriously injured when a Tata lorry collided with a petrol tank trailer at Namasoga, on the Jinja-Tororo Road recently. The victims were rushed to Iganga Hospital. Police stopped scores of residents from carrying utensils to the vehicles and siphoning fuel from the tank. The petrol tank trailer which was heading to Rwanda from Mombasa had failed to turn at a sharp bend. The officer in charge of traffic, Mr. Geofrey Wanami, recently told The New Vision the trailer subsequently rammed into the lorry which carried 240 bags of sugar The lorry was coming from the opposite direction. The dead was identified as Francis Wabule, a Mbale-based businessman. The Police said the deceased had attempted to jump out of the vehicle during the crash when he got trapped underneath the lorry that overturned moments later.
