Post: Senior Assistant Secretary (1- One Vacancy) Duties and Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be responsible for a variety of administrative duties under the guidance of more Senior Administrative Officers as indicated below: (a) Ensuring safe custody of Government property and proper use of utilities. (b) Taking minutes during meetings and ensuring their distribution (c) Participating in preparations for the Department’s functions and others. (d) Preparing speeches (e) Ensuring safe custody of Government premises (f) Administering logistics in the Department (g) Preparing memoranda for decisions (h) Co-ordinating the administration of entitlements to specified Officers Qualifications: The applicant should: (a) Have an Honours Degree in either Arts or Social Sciences (b) Have passed an Administrative Officer’s Law Course (c) Have demonstrated administrative aptitude, competence and broad knowledge of Public Administration. (d) Have been at the level of Assistant Secretary/Administrative Officer Grade II for at least three years. (e) Computer literacy will be an added advantage 2. Post: Inspectorate Officers - Lawyers (Four (4) Vacancies) Duties: The successful candidates will perform the following duties: (a) Draft legal opinions (b) Carry out research/investigations (c) Draft legal documents /letters (d) Prosecute/assist in prosecuting (f) Write reports under the supervision of a Senior Inspectorate Officer (g) Perform other duties as assigned by higher authorities Qualifications: The applicant should: (a) Hold a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Honours Degree from a recognized University, plus a Diploma in Legal Practice. (b) He/She should be a registered Legal Practitioner in Uganda (c) Should be Computer Literate 3. Post: Assistant Inspectorate Officer (1- One Vacancy) Duties: (a) To receive and handle complaints to the Inspectorate. (b) To study, analyze, summarize and register complaints to the Inspectorate. (c) To followup progress of the complaints within the Inspectorate. (d) To implement proper records management regarding complaints to the Inspectorate. (e) To carry out any other duties as may be assigned. Qualifications: The applicant should possess the following qualifications: (a) Higher Diploma in Marketing, Business Studies or Records Management from a recognized Institution Additional: (i) Computer Literacy (iii) At least 3 years experience in handling clients in a public institution 4. Post: Accounts Assistants (4- Four vacancies) Duties: (a) Processing of payments. (b) Writing books of accounts and other financial records (c) To prepare monthly expenditure returns/accountabilities. (d) Maintaining books of accounts and financial records. Qualifications: The applicants should have the following qualifications: (a) UDBS or Diploma in Accounting or its equivalent from a recognized Institution (b) Should be computer literate (c) Working experience in the same field for 3 years shall be an added advantage 5. Post: Inspectorate Officers/ General (Sixteen (16) Vacancies) Duties: (a) Collecting and analyzing data on cases being handled (b) Preparation of summoness for witnesses (c) Carrying out investigations into alleged or suspected cases of corruption (d) Education/sensitization of the general public on the Leadership Code of Conduct. (e) Preparation of declaration forms for public officers (f) Writing, submission and co-ordination of reports (g) Education/sensitization of the general public on the role/functions of the organization through the mass media, television, radio, newspapers, etc. (h) Participating in organizing conferences/ workshops / seminars for the Inspectorate of Government. Qualifications: The applicants should hold a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Social Sciences with Economics, Statistics, Sociology or Social Administration as one of the core subjects.
