POIICE in Kabale is investigating a case in which a UPDF private one Abubakari attached to Mwajari army barracks shot and injured two people and later attempted to kill himself, reports Darious Magara. The DPC Kabale Mr. Amoru Martin told The New Vision that the incident occurred on Sunday when Abubakari failed to secure yellow bananas on credit. “We are told that he failed to secure a batch of yellow bananas from one of the shops at Mwanjari on credit but he grabbed it,” Amoru said. He said that the soldier, who went back to the barracks, came back and shot at the shop attendants and later himself. The police identified the victims as Moses Twebaze and Apollo Aharimpa, who together with Abubakari are admitted at Kabale hospital in critical condition. The two victims were shot in the stomach and Abubakari shot and crashed his lower jaw. Amoru said if Abubakari survives, he would be charged.
