By Vision reporter THE woman Member of Parliament for Kayunga district, Victoria Sebagereka, has said Kayunga and Mukono districts lead in child battering in the country. Sebagereka was speaking at the UWESO Mukono branch celebrations at Mukono town council hall recently. She said parents should be instrumental in showing their children love and care in order to bring them up as responsible citizens. “We should show our children that we care and refrain from battering them because this forces them to go to the streets,” Sebagereka said. She said UWESO would help disadvantage children, especially through educating them and providing them with school necessities Sebagereka urged women to work hard and to also support the Movement government which has been at the forefront in women emancipation. Sebagereka said most UWESO members work as volunteers. She hailed Mrs Janet Museveni for founding UWESO. Mrs Museveni started UWESO in 1986 to help orphans whose parents died in the war.
