TORA BORA — US aircraft bombed eastern Afghan mountains near Tora Bora through the night and into the dawn on Friday, targeting the cave and valley hideouts of Osam bin Laden’s al Qaeda network. By 6.45 pm a B-52 bomber was circling over the White Mountains leaving a vapour trail.
