Kabale district youth executive have pledged to support Col Kiiza Besigye's bid for presidency.

By Darious Magara and H. Mbabazi Kabale district youth executive have pledged to support Col Kiiza Besigye's bid for presidency. In a press release on Thursday, the youth also asked the District Local Council to clarify on why it had denounced Besigye. The two-page statement signed by seven executive members chaired by Isaac Kanyamahere, and a district youth councillor, Mr. Paul Kagweza, said to denounce Besigye's candidature was unfair, dictatorial and unfortunate. The youth, who quoted Chapter 1, Article 1 Verse 1 of the Constitution which says power belongs to the people of Uganda, blamed the district councillors for not seeking the views of the people. Others who signed the statement included the vice-chairman, S. Twijukye, secretary general Laban Turyagyenda, finance secretary Byamugisha and that for students B. Balabe among others. Ends.
