By Joyce Namutebi About 6,500 former members of Herman Semujju's National Freedom Party (NFP) and the Democratic Party (DP) Mobilisers Group, have joined the Movement. In a meeting with the Minister of State for Trade, Gilbert Bukenya, in Kampala last Friday, members of the two groups vowed to campaign for President Yoweri Museveni. Bukenya, who is among the 21 regional co-ordinators under the mobilisation department, said the group was a "new breed of the Movement". Ronald Mulondo, a Makerere University student, who led the DP group, said Museveni must to win next year's elections. "No one among the aspirants has a clear strategy like his. Who can compete with him?" he asked. The Acting President General of NFP, Abbey Mayanja, said his group of about 5000 people disassociated itself from the former leader, Semujju, after he declared his intention to fight Government. Semujju is currently in the UK, Mayanja said. "We can't fight the Government, we want peace," Mayanja said. Ends.
