TRADERS along Kafumbe Mukasa Road have welcomed the construction of the road.
The road has several key businesses including the sprawling St. Balikudembe Market, Ovino shopping mall and neighbouring Nakivubo stadium, bus park and many flour mills will be fed by this road.
Last week, its construction was launched by the ministry of Works.
The contract was awarded to Stirling Construction. The entire project is expected to take about five months.
A few months ago, traders working along the road went on strike over the poor state of the road. “It has been in that situation for the last one year,†says Edward Muwanga, who runs a flour mill in Kisenyi.
