ANNET Okungu says at seven months her daughter, Ruth Adikini, was on treatment for vomiting and diarrhoea. Okungu says it started with diarrhoea and two days later, Adikini started vomiting.

Suddenly, she lost weight and her eyes were sunken, an indication of dehydration. To keep her hydrated, Okugu gave her plenty of fruit juice and a mixture of oral rehydration salts, thrice a day.

Loyce Zawedde says at two months, her daughter, Mercy Nesonze, had diarrhoea and was vomiting for two weeks. She drastically lost weight and her skin looked pale. Zawedde endeavoured to give Nesonze plenty of fruit juice and water. She also took her daughter to hospital for treatment.

Violet Kisakye says at four months, her daughter, Gift Jerains, began vomiting and became dehydrated. Jerains also lost weight, had dry lips, her eyes were sunken and she was very weak. Kisakye gave her daughter plenty of fruit juice and tea, in addition to the treatment the doctor had prescribed.
