MEN'S volleyball powerhouses KAVC, Nkumba and new looking Nemo Stars got off to a winning start as the national league rolled off at MUBS grounds on Saturday.
Reigning champions KAVC thrashed lowly Cubs 3-0 in a one-sided game to assume the league summit with just one game played while former champions Sport-S suffered a 3-1 defeat to traditional rivals Nkumba.
Through Dickens Otim, the university side maintained a consistent rhythm with hard attacks that constantly dismantled the opposition’s hopes.
Elsewhere, UCU Doves got a shocker when Nemo Stars thrashed them 3-1.
However, the Mukono based side shared a light moment when the women’s side whipped veterans KAVC in three straight sets.
In the other women’s games, KCC beat Ndejje 3-2 in a closely contested game as Nkumba ladies demonstrated why they are champions when they out-competed Nemo Stars.
