UCDA’s Rwakatogoro to represent Uganda at barista championship

THE Uganda Coffee Development Authority’s Clare Rwakatogoro, will represent Uganda at the 2011 Barista Championship that will take place Colombia.

THE Uganda Coffee Development Authority’s Clare Rwakatogoro, will represent Uganda at the 2011 Barista Championship that will take place Colombia.
It will be hosted by the Colombian Coffee Federation and Speciality Coffee Association of Colombia from June 2-5 at the 4th Annual Expoespeciales Trade Show in Bogotá.
Rwakatogoro was certified last month as an International Barista Judge in New Zealand. The certification is valid for two years. Meanwhile, the UCDA has partnered with Makerere University’s School of Food Science and Fechnology to promote coffee drinking in the country.
To promote domestic coffee consumption, the Uganda Coffee Development Authority and the School of Food Science Technology, Nutrition and Bio-technology launched a Makerere University Coffee Club on April 8.
