BUSHENYI district Speaker is wanted by the Police in Kampala over allegedly defiling a girl last year.

Emmanuel Karasi was last Monday summoned to Kawempe Police station. He should have appeared on that day but by midday, detectives there had not seen him.

The incident, according to sources, occurred on May 7, 2011 at Kati Falaawo, Kawempe division where the accused resided. He was a tenant of Abdala Walakira.

On the fateful day, detectives said, the suspect asked the victim, then 17, to buy beer for him beers from a nearby shop. The girl (name withheld) is Walakira’s relative and stayed with him.

“The man had pestered the girl for sex for a long time. When she returned, he had sex with her,” the source stated, adding that Karasi, who had been suspicious, saw the girl leaving Karasi’s house in the morning.

On examination, the police surgeon confirmed that a male sexual organ had indeed penetrated the girl’s private parts.

However, two days later, the source told New Vision, Karasi reportedly “lost interest” in the case.
