Ugandan students to get UK degrees here

UGANDAN students will no longer have to pay through the nose to study in the UK for British degrees.

UGANDAN students will no longer have to pay through the nose to study in the UK for British degrees.

Prof. Martin O’Hara, the vice chancellor of Victoria University, says the university is giving Ugandans a chance to study here and get British degrees at a fraction of the cost of doing the same course in the UK.

He was speaking during the open day at the university premises on Kira Road recently. “Although many people in the region would like to study for an internationally recognised degree, the cost of studying in countries like the UK is prohibitive. Victoria University is now giving Ugandans a chance. This is an exciting opportunity to demonstrate that by working in partnership with leading British institutions, we are bringing global standards of excellence to higher education in Uganda,” he added.

Victoria University’s leading British partner is the University of Buckingham which regularly excels on the UK ratings of academic quality, student satisfaction and employability of graduates. The university will have another open day on August 5 before officially opening next month.
