The local motorsport governing body-FMU and Police are  to investigate the incident in which rally driver and president of Southern motor club  Ponsiano Lwakataka  was assaulted by fans who turned up for the Champions sprint at Fesitino cite in Mukono on Boxing Day.

Police will probe the allegations that Lwakataka, the organiser of the event drew a pistol to the rowdy fans that were demanding for the Motocross riders he had advertised to be part of the  Champions sprint.

“This is absurd to hear that it has been a routine for the organisers to cheat the fans and as Police we shall investigate what took place because this causes insecurity and leads to lose of lives,” Erasmus Mwesigwa Mukono DPC stated.

The fans complained that the money charged was too much and that event organisers were taking them for granted.

“Sh10, 000/= is a lot of money. Where are the motorbikes, where is Arthur Blick? Even Mangati is out of the country,” the rowdy fan charged before crashing Lwakataka‘s Blue Subaru front wind screen registration number UAL 441T.

FMU president, George Kagimu condemned the incident and promised to end such incidents in future.

“We are going to investigate this incident and the culprit will face disciplinary action. I will talk to the motocross group and find out the truth before we act,” Kagimu stated in an interview after the event.

FMU will later today decide whether the results of the day stand for CRC competitors or they count it as entertainment.
