Kampala traders demonstrate over power cuts

 Traders in Katwe and Ndeeba both Kampala suburbs Thursday morning demonstrated over constant load shedding.

 The traders started their demonstration at 9:00 am at Katwe along Entebbe road. They accused UMEME of switching off electricity during day yet their businesses operate during.

 “The power comes back late yet in the night after closing our businesses yet we work during day. On top of that they (UMEME) send us huge bills,” traders said. 

They claimed to have registered losses due to increased cost of input as most of them use generators which pushing operation costs high.
