The Jinja Declaration Committee (JDC) membership has shot up from five to six after Uganda Super League (USL) replaced Jimmy Segawa with two new members.

Segawa who was advised to resign to concentrate on his duties as USL Chief Executive Officer was replaced by Police F.C secretary Livingstone Lajani and army side Simba vice chairman Tom Lwanga.

According to a press release issued by USL spokesman James Sekandi, in the meeting held at Sheraton Hotel on Tuesday, all clubs unanimously agreed to have Lajani and Lwanga on the JDC.

FUFA vice president (Super League) and Proline F.C chairman Mujib Kasule, FUFA vice president (administration) Moses Magogo, FUFA vice president (competitions) Isa Magoola are other members of the JDC chaired by Richard Omongole.

The JDC was formed to oversee implementation of reforms in the management of the league.

The naming of two new USL members could renew the power struggle between USL and FUFA that has been silent for a while.

“The JDC can’t have more than the five members we agreed upon. I thought they had just wanted an additional member just for purposes of visiting clubs and for only that period.

May be they made a mistake in their communication,” FUFA spokesman Rogers Mulindwa fumed.
