The seat became vacant, after High Court nullified the election of Bukenya as the area MP on October 6, due to electoral malpractice that were characterized in the February 2011 polls.

Bukirwa said 788 new people were registered during the she update exercise which was carried out between November 24th to 3rd, bringing the total number of voters to 49, 644 from 48, 856.

She said this should not be taken as the final register since many changes are going to done to come out with a clean final register to be used on the polling day.
