The National Theatre and Cultural Centre has today received a grant of 17,003.40 US Dollars from the Embassy of Japan in Uganda as a follow up assistance of a project implemented in 2002.

The grant was signed between H. E. Kazuo Minagawa, Ambassador of Japan to Uganda, and Mr. Nicholas Ssemujju, Director of an organization Unics Uganda Limited who will implement this follow up project.

The Ambassador said the funds would be used to repair the audio-visual equipment procured under the Cultural Grant Aid from the Japanese government in 2002 and hoped that the equipment to be repaired by the grant would support and enhance the traditional and modern performance of art activities in Uganda.

This donation is part of the assistance from the Japanese government cultural grant that aims to promote cultural development and performances of art.
