FORMER Sports Club Villa Coach Micho Sredejovic has been appointed the new Rwanda national team Amavubi Stars head coach.

Micho has reportedly agreed a two-year contract with Rwanda Football governing body FERWAFA. Ugandan Ibrahim Mugisha, crossed over to Rwanda two months ago is his goalkeeper specialist.

Micho was chosen ahead of Ratomir Dujkovic, Stephen Keshi, Patrice Neveu and Branko Smiljanic who all applied for the post.

Micho’s first task as the Amavubi head coach will be at the CECAFA Senior Challenge in Dar es Salam Tanzania in three weeks’ time and then Brazil2014 FIFA World cup preliminary round against Eritrea starting next year.

Micho took over from Sellas Tetteh who threw in the towel after a 5-0 thrashing by Ivory Coast in a 2012 Africa Nations Cup qualifier.
