The 2011 Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) trade fair, on Tuesday started with a very low turn-up for both exhibitors and show-goers. Most of the stalls were empty as the exhibitors were still arriving from other East African countries of Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and South Africa. Construction works and displaying of merchandise were taking place at some of the stalls.

Other traders who could not afford to pay  for the stalls inside the show-ground, occupied the roadsides where they were also busy selling to passerbys. The official opening of the show will take place on Saturday. Goods which were already on display included tractors, motorcycles, cosmetics, mineral water products and telecom products by the various organisations.
